At Habitus, we’re not in the game of pumping out reports to make ourselves look good. We’re here to show what happens when you put anthropology, emotional intelligence, and bloody good conversations into the hands of people hungry for change.

Since day one, our work has been about this: Create. Educate. Change.

But none of that happens in a vacuum. These numbers—every workshop delivered, every leader challenged, every person heard—only exist because people showed up. They trusted us with their time, their stories, their discomfort, and their hope.

Yep, we’re counting — thousands of people have stepped into our workshops, presentations, programs, and brave conversations. They’ve walked out a little more connected, a little more compassionate, and a hell of a lot more human.

Because that's the heart of what we do — making space for people to rediscover what matters.

One area we’re especially proud of is our work around masculinity. Take our Men After #MeToo workshop, which is just one example of the many topics we can open up space for conversation using our brave conversations framework. Our workshop invites boys and men to pause and reflect on what it means to show up as a man in today’s world and reconnect with each other and themselves. 

But don’t take our word for it, here’s how one of our participants puts it:

“The openness, the feeling of being heard, the opportunity to delve into a part of ourselves that we wouldn't usually share with other men, the way it got everyone talking and also listening… these are all skills that I’ll use in my life”

And it goes beyond masculinity. Being a “better human” isn’t about perfection — it’s about being willing to listen, reflect, and do the work. That’s the power in you we’re here to help activate.

We’re not chasing feel-good moments. We’re here for something deeper. Real, lasting change doesn’t come from scaling up or scaling out — it comes from scaling deep. That means working on yourself, your relationships, your team, your organisation — the things that actually shape how we live and lead.

This is the stuff most people don’t see. Quiet work. Volunteered time. Showing up in schools, communities, and youth spaces that don’t have the budget but have all the need.

We reinvest what we earn from corporate and private sector clients into delivering high-impact, low-barrier programs for those doing it tough. It’s how we level the playing field — in practice, not theory. Here’s one example:

Back in 2021, a group of young people in Kiama came to us — They were grieving a string of youth suicides. They didn’t want platitudes. They wanted to be heard.

So we ran a Lifehacks program with them. Not to “fix” them, but to give them space to make sense of what was happening.

They told us: They feel unheard. They know there are mental health resources available to them, but they want more than that, they want to be connected. They’re tired of adults thinking they know best without listening.

The result? A whitepaper built on their words — and a model for community-led cultural change.

But it doesn’t end there.

We believe that meaningful change should be accessible — that’s why we’ve made a conscious choice to offer our time, resources and services at a reduced cost to community organisations, helping them save and reinvest over the above figure into the programs, people, and projects that matter most.

This is part of our commitment to sustainable impact. By tailoring our pricing to the context and capacity of our partners — whether that’s a grassroots youth service or a national mental health organisation — we make sure our work goes further, where it counts.

33% of Our Revenue Reinvested into Community

Since day one, we’ve backed our values with action. To date, the above ratio of our revenue has been reinvested into supporting grassroots programs, community leaders, and initiatives serving those most in need — from regional youth support groups to citizen ethnography projects. 

That’s not because we have to — it’s because we know the people we support are the ones making the real sacrifices to drive change. They’re on the ground, doing the hard work. And as long as we have the capacity, we’ll keep backing them however we can.
